FAQ

Colour matching from a sample: what do you need to provide?

How to read our labels

Almost every paint that is made here, is by hand! We use a variety of techniques to colour match, including scanners and colour cards! As a general rule, it is easiest for us to match a paint that is flat, well covered(consistent colour no base coming through), decent quality. House paint sample can be a flake, auto/industrial the size of a standard sticky note. AUTOMOTIVE Ideally, bring the vehicle in. Although if the whole vehicle cannot be bought in, a smaller component such as a fuel flap is usable.  INDUSTRIAL We can match to poles, trucks, trays etc. preferably a sample in decent condition and flat if at all possible.  HOUSE PAINT It is often possible for us to match to just a flake of paint! Preferable to have a smooth, well covered sample.

Colour matching from a code on a car

Generally colour codes can be located in a few different locations; owners manual, door jams, engine bay(firewall etc.). If unsure what the code is take a photo or write down what you see.

The most important information is the top section of this label. The basic layout of this one is; Car Brand/Year/Code/Brand and type of paint/ Colour name. (Toyota/1984/040/Valspar 862/Super White II)

This labels layout is simply; Car Brand/Code/*below*Name/*below*Paint brand and type/Size Toyota/040 Super White II Valspar 862 1L

**STORE POLICY: colour matching and mixing has a maximum time allowance of 1 hour.
